Ben Dryer is the winner of the Space Zone, after receiving the most votes from students! He wins Β£500 to spend on more STEM engagement activities. Here’s what he had to say about his victory: I am overjoyed at being voted the winner of the Space Zone!  I want to express heartfelt thanks to my fellow space professionals who spent so much of their time answering your amazing questions. What have your STEM professionals been up to? A conversation with Aditya Mandrekar

This new series catches up with your STEM professional team in the Space Zone to showcase the work that they have been involved with over the past few months! Aditya Mandrekar Since the start of the Space Zone, my colleagues have finished the testing of two satellites which have been delivered to the launch facility. They have been integrated into the rocket that will be launched by a plane taking off from Cornwall, in the UK. This will be the first launch of a rocket from the UK and we are all looking forward to it!

This new series catches up with your STEM professional team in the Space Zone to showcase the work that they have been involved with over the past few months! Mike Heyns Whilst the Space Zone has been running, I have also been running quite a few projects! The main one at the moment deals with supplying operational space weather modelling tools to the UK Met Office, along with a range of project partners. Our team has been very busy tweaking the computer simulation code we are developing, whilst linking that to inputs and outputs of other groups within the project. Part of this included a trip to Met Office Space Weather Operations Centre (MOSWOC), where we presented our progress to the end-users, funders and other scientists. This new series catches up with your STEM professional team in the Space Zone to showcase the work that they have been involved with over the past few months! Alessio Spampinato Since the start of the Space Zone, I have been busy doing computer simulations and improving 3D models for a project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA). Every few months, my team have to provide a report to ESA about the progress we are making on the project. This time, we are approaching what we call Critical Design Review (CDR), where we discuss with ESA about the design of the system we are going to build. We need to get their approval in order to start producing the pieces of the system, then build it and finally test it.
